MessyFile is operated by Blue Ocean Property, LLC. This notice explains how MessyFile collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you visit the site, upload a file, request a service, pay, or contact support.
We collect the files, contact information, requested output, instructions, and consent record you submit; order, payment status, refund, and delivery history; service communications; and limited technical data such as timestamps, referral or campaign source, browser information, and security or abuse-prevention signals. Payment-card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by MessyFile.
We use information to check file readiness, recommend an offer, process and deliver orders, communicate about service and support, prevent duplicate orders and abuse, secure and troubleshoot the platform, measure acquisition and funnel performance, comply with law, and maintain necessary business records. Customer documents and extracted contents are not used to build a marketing list or sold.
When you upload before payment, MessyFile temporarily stores the file and check metadata so the same upload can continue after checkout. Unpaid pre-check uploads expire after 24 hours and are removed during the next daily deletion cycle. If payment succeeds, the upload is linked to the resulting order. If the check rejects the file, the file remains subject to the same short pre-check retention unless removed sooner.
Native source and result files are scheduled for deletion 30 days after receipt; for a human-reviewed service, the file deadline resets to 30 days after approval. A daily cleanup removes stored file blobs. Limited transaction, consent, fraud-prevention, security, support, and audit records may remain when reasonably needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. You may request earlier deletion by emailing support@messyfile.com, subject to legal, security, payment-dispute, and operational retention requirements.
MessyFile uses service providers for hosting and private storage, document conversion, OCR or AI-assisted extraction, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing. Information is shared only as reasonably needed for those functions, security, legal compliance, or a business transaction involving MessyFile. See the current provider and data-flow inventory.
MessyFile uses PostHog to measure page views, referral and campaign sources, and clicks on checkout or quote links. Session recording and automatic form-content capture are disabled. Analytics does not receive uploaded documents, form-field contents, or payment-card data.
Service, assessment, support, and delivery messages do not enroll you in recurring marketing. If you separately opt in, MessyFile may send occasional tips or offers. You may withdraw that permission through the unsubscribe method in a marketing message or by emailing support@messyfile.com.
MessyFile uses access controls, private storage, limited retention, and operational safeguards appropriate to the service, but no online system is guaranteed secure. Do not submit passwords, full payment-card numbers, medical records, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive material unless MessyFile has expressly confirmed the job can be accepted.
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your order, or object to optional marketing, by emailing support@messyfile.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law or legitimate security, accounting, or dispute needs require it.
MessyFile is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted information.
